BVM is a unique high school. Unlike other high school environments, the dangers of teenage ignorance are mostly absent. BVM focuses on the development of its students souls as Catholics, putting this infinitely important task above all others. The resources include sacraments and priests. These things are most beneficial to anyone, especially a young adult in the process of being formed into a good Catholic. The school teaches its students how to think. Using the best philosophy history has to offer, that of St. Thomas Aquinas, the students are encouraged to develop a delicate conscience with which they may use to orient the use use of their God given free will for the purpose they have been given. As I student, I was often reminded of life's one importance: loving and serving God.

Traditional catholic school, means to educate the mind and soul of children to love God, Church, to live as God wants us to live with moral standards, where boys will be men , and ladies will be ladies.
This was a horrible school. The teachers are poor. They do not seek to help students after classes, they often are not qualified in the area they teach. The school pays the teachers next to nothing and many are on welfare. The boarding elements are worse than "Lord of the Flies". There is stealing and a gross lack of supervision of the boarding students. Both boys and girls. The Girls boarding house is/was a fire trap and the "nun" who ran it may not even be a real nun (we could find no trace of her taking vows from whence she came. The boarding facilities get food from the food bank (shameful). Our Lady surely weeps at the sight of this school.
