Massabesic High School has a very old campus. The buildings are old and have a lot of problems, and the design is not up to date with modern codes and functionality (especially when it comes to bathrooms) is fairly poor. The food is also not great, but I think you'll find that throughout the United States Public School System. That being said, I have personally had a great experience there. Not all the students like the teachers, but you will find that everywhere. I personally like all my teachers and feel that they teach us everything we need to know. I know that without a doubt most of them would give up their own personal time if I, or another student, needed extra help. The teachers are real with the students, and I do truly feel that they try to prepare for whatever lies ahead for us, whether it is college or not. I take a lot of dual enrollment courses as well and have had the best experience with our ELO Coordinator/Dean of Academics and guidance department.
I liked the school culture. Some of the teachers, some of the time. There is not a lot of diversity or people that accept diversity. The guidance staff is not very aggressive about college readiness. There is not a lot about this school that jumps out. They are average.
Massabesic is a very inclusive school that is driven towards bettering its community through recycling programs, diverse art classes, and easy access to opportunities through the lovely ladies in the guidance office. All the teachers truly care for their students and want the absolute best for them because we all come from a small rural background and know what it's like to be at the lower end of the food chain.
