Overall, my experience with this school has been amazing! Although I have only been here since my sophomore year, I can agree with the fact that this school ranks so highly among public institutions in Ohio. Several events from my day-to-day experience at this school have prepared me for the next step in my academic career. For example, extracurricular activities that I have taken part in such as wrestling have taught me extremely important skills that I will use in the next chapter of my life as well as the rest of my life. In addition to that, my work ethic has improved tremendously in the past two years while attending this school and my ability to persevere through difficult tasks has greatly improved during my time at this school. This institution fosters a goal of achievement for all students to attain and holds healthy expectations for its students. In conclusion, my time here has been not only extremely valuable to my academic career, but my personal growth as well.
Mason High School is a very average school.
Academics: A wide range of options, reasonable graduation requirements, a good variety of AP classes (could be better though). Some teaching styles are more effective than others, which is something the school is working on.
Diversity: very white, very straight, and male students are preferred and favored by the teachers.
Teachers: average. Some really care and are very involved, others are notorious for their laziness. You just have to be smart when scheduling in order to succeed.
Clubs and Activities: if you’re not involved in football, men’s basketball, men’s soccer, or aren’t above average academically, you don’t matter. Our barely average sport programs receive too much money and favoritism.
Resources: You receive NO support from school counselors. Very curt and uninvolved. All interactions are perfunctory.
Mason is alright. I don’t regret going to this school, but I think it’s very middle-of-the-road.

My school, Mason High School isn't like any other school in my opinion. My school picks the best of the best when it comes to teachers. I believe that all of their teaching skills are quite amazing, but not only that the teachers they pick actually care about their students but the entire schools system is stable, functions well, and is good to their students and staff. When you arrive at mason high school you automatically feel as if its a safe place. I was having a really hard time during the school year I was going through a lot at the time seeing multiple Doctors, Physiologists and spending most of my time in the hospital. Although I was having a hard time I was still supported by my peers and teachers who took the time to understand and help, I've never experienced or heard this happening at any other school. Now what I believe can be changed about my school is more outside time, we have this beautiful patio that never gets used and I think we should definitely use it.
