Mary G. Montgomery High School has shaped me into the young adult that I am. I have attended MGM all four years of high school. Growing and maturing here into the young women that I am, I’ve learned many things. MGM made me a more responsible and accountable person in general. The teachers are uplifting but not easy. Working for the grades I have will be valuable to take to college. I’ve learned what hard work is through MGM. I also did dance, cross country, and track here along with duaI enrollment and start south classes. MGM offers college credits which really will help me in the long run. I would say overall, MGM is a great place to go to high school.
High school grew me into the person I am. I have great memories, good and bad, some learning experiences and some that I’ll take with me the rest of my life. So far my high school experience has influenced my development as a person inside and outside of the class by making me more independent, choosing friends wisely and teachers motivating me to attend college and accomplish goals I have set for myself.
I have gained my independence slowly throughout high school. The importance of being independent is being secure with who you are and what you believe in. It is extremely empowering knowing that you are in control of your own life and your own choices in high school, college and as a adult. Gaining my independence in high school developed me

Mary G Montgomery tries to do a lot of things. Key word being tries. The administration is very difficult to work with and they punish students for wanting to get ahead. Students are not told of opportunities to take harder classes unless they demand them. This leaves students bored and other students struggling. The staff are very uninspired except for a select few. Mr. Mutchnick is a wonderful example of an excellent teacher. Otherwise, you get teachers who are burnt out and unable to add life in the classroom. The money goes to football and the other programs get almost nothing. The fine arts program is one of the only highlights of Mary G. I am going to college for engineering and none of the classes, except for classes taken at the local colleges, have prepared me for my major. If you go to this school, be informed and try to talk to your counselor about your options, otherwise you will coast to graduation on mediocrity.
