Martin Van Buren Highschool is a public school in Queens Village, NYC. It's a very diverse school where you can meet students of different countries that speak different languages; there's diversity within the teachers and staff too. As an immigrant, this was a perfect community for me because I was able to connect with other immigrants . The teachers at MVB are responsible, respectful and always available to help their students. My favorite part of MVB is spirit week; it's a week where the teachers and students express themselves creatively usually through clothing. For example, a really fun day during spirit week is usually "Genderbender day", where everyone dresses up as the opposite gender. In MVB, we also have a "Rep your flag day", which is when the students can proudly wear clothing with the color of their native flags! What I wish MVB would improve on, is adding more fun clubs such as: band, public speaking, etc! Either way, I am grateful to be a student at MVB.

Interesting experience! I graduated in 2016 and found that things were more relaxed in terms of teaching, level of work and professionalism from professors.
My experience at Martin Van Buren High School was great because, the school provides a large variety of academic and extra circular activities. This school has a great science program and an amazing lab. This school offers many sports including soccer and tennis. The principal and staff care very much about the well being of others and want the students to achieve academic excellence. The college counselor is amazing. She provides so much information on college applications, and scholarships. hat I would like improved is more activities but, based on academics such as a fair but each game played requires you to answer something in a specific subject. This could help students improve there knowledge and have fun.
