John Marshall High School is a great environment for anyone to attend. I recommend the neighborhood because it is a safe environment to play sports around, or walk your dog, or even go to neighborhood activities such as bar-b-ques or a party. The restaurants around Marshall are very convenient for off campus lunch. The sports are so-so but we are getting there! Recently, we had our cross country team get first place for varsity girls, where i placed 7th indivually.

My experience with Marshall High School has been up and down. There have been points where I've absolutely loved it there and there have been points where I couldn't wait for the day to end. Overall, the teachers are decent. There a few that are really great, but unfortunately there are more bad teachers than good ones. Something about this school that makes it a really great place to be would just be the people here. There's a lot of diversity at this school and I've had the opportunity to meet a number of different people. Lastly, another great thing about this school is that it has counselors that are really committed and care about the students. They do an amazing job keeping us updated on things to come. They just really care for you and want to put you in the best situation possible. They make high school that much easier.
One thing I really appreciated about this school was that they prepared you for college, it's something that was constantly talked about. First day of 9th grade, you get assigned a senior mentor, a 12th grader who talks to you one day out of the week, they give you tips to make high school easier, they give advice they took or wish they took, & you create a bond with someone who was literally in your shoes not to long ago. In 11th grade you then get a day out of every month talking about college & what you should expect. Once you're a senior you can then sign up to become a senior mentor & help someone else out. With these very important programs, college isn't as scary as it seems & you know what to expect because you've been prepared for 4 years.
