Marshall has so many opportunities for its students. Between the large number of student-organized clubs and teachers ready to help engaged students to the best of their ability, Marshall aims to both educate its student body while teaching how to use these opportunities to your advantage. Marshall is also an IB school, giving students the option to continue their future college journey internationally. Even if pupils may choose different paths, the IB Diploma and courses allow them to challenge themselves academically and creatively, further preparing the students.
To further improve, Marshall could update current activities going on in the school to provide a larger sense of spirit and community. Although recent events have taken place and increasing effort has been put in to encourage more school spirit, individuals would benefit from a more inclusive and balanced environment (academics, sports, arts, etc.)

This school has given me the best opportunities. The resources provided have given me the ground to explore my passions like being on the student newspaper, pursuing music, and exploring the real world, the last primarily through guest speakers at assemblies. Marshall has been in the news for not being inclusive, and I can't speak for the entire student body, but I have found my place in the school and have settled in quite nicely, and have not encountered issues with this personally. The academic rigor of the classes is very good and I am quite certain it will help me in the future in college and well after. All in all, it's a good school. But like anything, the experience is what you make it. Marshall, however, has helped me make my high school experience so far a good one.
Marshall HS provided students with an intellectually stimulating course load and a diverse and inclusive environment. Academically, I felt fulfilled and prepared for college upon graduating. However, there was little emphasis on growing or even allowing students' sense of independence. At times, I felt more like a prisoner than a student. Many faculty members demonstrated distrust toward students, and I did not feel like I had much control over my life as a student here. Additionally, the administration prioritized community and communal values in spoken word much more than in action. Mental health and wellness was not as much of a focus as it should have been.
Overall, I had many positive and negative experiences at Marshall HS. I met great people here, and I learned a lot about myself and about the world. Yet, there were also times when I felt like I was going to crack from an overwhelming combination of academic rigor, NOVA competition, and a declining mental/emotional state.
