Marshall is one of the best high schools in Fairfax County, VA. In many ways, from the school programs to administration, it is an excellent school. They offer a variety of IB classes as an IB school. There are millions of clubs in the school and teachers are all excellent. There is also a college and career center which prepares the school's juniors and seniors about the college applications process and many more! There are a variety of sports, and each year students participate and win many competitions in different sport activities.
I enjoyed my two-year experience at Marshall High School. As an international transfer student, the student services department was exceptionally helpful and supportive. I very much enjoyed the countless opportunities offered in clubs, activities, and academics. Furthermore, I am lucky to have participated in the IB Diploma Program as a candidate for my Junior and Senior years of HS. While I do wish there was more diversity, being a native Hispanic, and did encounter some instances of racial insensitivity, overall I experienced acceptance from both staff members and students.
I am a rising junior and I believe Marshall is a phenomenal school. It is ranked as the #1 IB school in the state for a reason. The courses are challenging, but on the long run, I think it negatively affects us at all. The teachers, despite some being a bit ill-mannered to students, are overall great!
