I give marlington highschool a 4/5 because they put a lot of money into sports and someone they don’t focus on like what the kids need. Overall though it’s a good school and the teachers are very nice. The counselors help out and stuff.
Marlington is your average high school but has many things to work on. It’s administration does not advocate for their students and the diversity is low because of hostility.
Better faculty that doesn't neglect those whose parents don't work for the school or donate money for the school.
There are certain teachers that bring the best out of you and make sure you succeed. On the other hand, there are a handful of teachers that like to baby students into succeeding. A lot of the time it is your last name or what you do to help out the school or district that makes you look like a high achiever.
Marlington has taught me many things about myself, those around me, and what my future holds. I have learned leadership skills that have taught me to express myself and appreciate the company of others. I have come out of my shell and joined several clubs such as Interact Club, Character Counts, Teens Against Cancer, and French Club. I am also Vice President of French National Honors Society and Vice President of National Honors Society. These are all tremendous opportunities I have earned and I have always kept this school close to me.
I have really liked my time at Marlington High School! I like that Marlington provides College Credit Plus classes to get us prepared for college. All the teachers are really nice and are really hardworking to make sure we have a good time at school. Go Dukes!
Great staff and good education. Not all the students are great but over all I will always remember the love at marlington
Well, Marlington High School was like most rural public schools I've been to. Being an old school, the utilities and structures were alarmingly outdated. The water was not clean, the roof leaked, and I'm pretty sure asbestos was still being used. The school doesn't have a lot of money so the programs were pretty low key, excluding football of course. The teachers were the only redeeming aspect considering they were connected to the community, passionate, and willing to work there for a lowly salary. If the community gave it the money it desperately needs it would be more impressive of an institution.
Country based school with family atmosphere. Big focus on sports and extracurriculars. Groups supported by parents.
Being able to participate in CCP courses in my school has helped me bump my rating up. The school itself is very average and I would not consider it to be a fantastic school. There are some great teachers, but it depends on who you are on if you might like them.
I liked that it is a small school where there is always familiar faces. I hope to see our school get heat and air conditioning in the next few years.
Marlington High School is really good at giving one-on-one in the classroom. I do wish, however we had better funding so the band could get new uniforms (they're a couple decades old, not even being unrealistic), and air conditioning.
The overall experience was average because I did not do well with social aspect of school. The staff was great in fact my best friend became my english teacher. She made me feel welcome and like the school actually cared about me.
Marlington is an nice, close knit, country school. I made a lot of close friends from there and got involved with different activities in the school. The faculty is nice and the students are well behaved. The education is modern and the teachers are very helpful. I enjoyed my years at Marlington and had a lot of fun there.
Marlington allows for you to make a lot of choices yourself. You have the opportunities to take higher level classes if you are ready. They make sure you are informed on everything you need to graduate, and keep you on track towards your own specific goals.
Overall pretty good school. Needs better heating and cooling system, better sports coaches, more funding for the arts, also a bit of a fixer upper in areas. But pretty good teachers and activities.
Wonderful learning atmosphere with a great staff! The school is not too big and not too small. There are many clubs, organizations, and sports for students to become involved in.
