I liked the close-knit classes. But, there’s a lot of politics. Sports are very- Who do you know?- rather than -How do you play?-. Not a lot of courses to take, but there are online opportunities available. Most people enjoy the school but acknowledge that it needs to see some changes. Not a lot of parent involvement for some students, but other students have great parental support. The music program is slowly getting better. Not a lot of financial support to go around. Girl’s sports teams do very well, boy’s teams struggle. Marion has quite a few students in the district not attending Marion. Many students choose to attend outside the district at other schools.

Small school that offers many leadership clubs, sports and one-on-one academic help. Before I moved to Marion I went to a larger school where there were too many kids per class to receive much individual help. At Marion there are fewer students, allowing yourself to stand out more and get the help you need. Where Marion lacks in funding they make up with their amazing teachers that have influenced me greatly.
Small school with a big heart! The parents aren't the biggest factor, as the previous questions suggest, the staff and supporting parents make a huge difference. So, even kids without lots of parent support feel like family. I love seeing the community work with the school too, like the library in town, the VFW post, etc.
