Throughout my four seemingly long years of high school... I realized that Marion County High School was not like “High School Musical” at all. However, while attending I did like how involved the community and town was with the school. The town of Jasper, TN “bleeds purple and white.” During football season the stands for the Marion County warriors always had the crowd packed in like sardines, but that is something we love to see.The stands will look like a sea of purple to the opposing team. It always puts a smile on my face going to away games and the guest side has more fans cheering on our boys then the home team does. Another thing that makes me like Marion County High is how it seemed like everyone or most of my fellow classmates had older siblings, parents, and even grandparents who all attended the school as well. I believe this is one main reason the town of Jasper has so much school spirit. Win or lose we always would come together.
Marion County is a 2 star school with 5 star children. Academics are okay but not fantastic. Football season dominates everything else like it usually does in a small town. Most of the teachers are great when it comes to teaching their student what they need to know. The food sucks. 0/10 would not reccommend. MCHS could definitely use some more funding. The ceiling leaks and the bathrooms mess up alot. Their is only one foreign language class, but the CTE classes are cool. They also get way more money than anyone else. Overall 3/5.
The heart at my high school is unbeatable. Although the school itself is very poverty stricken, the teachers try their very best to make up for this with fun, quality education. One thing I would like to see change is the school building and school materials. The school is old, and the materials in the classroom are inadequate for today’s technological classrooms. Most classes haven’t received new school books in seven or eight years, and we only have classroom sets so we can’t take them home.
