Such an AWESOME school, Mariner High School! I love the selection of electives and academics. The teachers are caring and always there to help. I only wish the student body would be more supportive of the sports. I think that the more people in the stands and more support the student body gives, the stronger the fight. I feel the games need more energy, music and excitement for the crowd atmosphere to get them there!

Overall, my experience at Mariner High School was good. I made plenty of friends, was on varsity cheer my freshman year and still am as a senior. The teachers are very caring and helpful. They have always helped me and others when there was a struggle present. The administration here is on top of everything and wants the best for our school. They care about safety and what the students can do to succeed. We have our own college guidance counselor who informs us about numerous opportunities with colleges and scholarships. The sports here are average, not too bad and not too good. My freshman year, our basketball team went to states and it was a very fun experience. I enjoy being involved with clubs and sports, as it is a goal to make students feel welcomed.
All the teachers were willing to work with me whenever I needed help. The principals I had, Dr. Robert Butz (9th-11th grade) and Dr. Thomas Michel (12th grade), always made sure that everyone was safe and following the rules enforced by the Lee County School District, and I had a good relationship with them. One of my favorite parts about Mariner High is that they have a Veterinary Assistant Academy that allows you to get hands on experience with live animals in Veterinary Practice, both in class and off campus in internships. Plus, it allows you to get certified as a Veterinary Assistant before entering college. There is nothing I would change about Mariner High.
