The Marine Academy of Science and Technology(MAST) is an outdoor high school campus located on one of New Jersey’s beaches. For future Marine Biology or Marine Science majors, there is no better hands on experience. Both on the shore itself, and on our 65 foot research vessel, the R/V Blue Sea. MAST is a welcoming school, and it’s students are committed to academic integrity, honor, courage, commitment, and learn valuable leadership skills through the Navy Junior ROTC program. Good luck on your application!

Cool facilities like the boat and proximity to the beach. However academics and other achievements are often completely overlooked in favor of JROTC or military related achievements. Say they don't want to recruit into the military yet had alumni come as recruiters into classes as well as several mandatory military related assemblies that take away from actual academic courses that will help the large majority of the student population that aren't interested in the JROTC or military get into the colleges they desire. No sports are offered and it is difficult to make it back for sports at home high school due to scheduling and transportation. School is good for capstone projects and research, but is really only good if you want to pursue a career in marine science, engineering or the military. Food is amazing and Ms.Mac will always make accommodations she is the best.
I am a current sophomore at MAST and I love my experience so far! My brother goes to my home highschool and when I compare my experiences to his, mine are so much more unique and much more community based. The community of students, teachers, and parents at MAST is truely like no other community at any other highschool I know.
