We are a two dad family, and this is the first year for us at MCDS. Our son goes to Kindergarten. We absolutely love the school! The campus is the most beautiful campus, with amazing landscaping and the backdrop of Ring Mountain park. It is absolute Zen! The community is most welcoming, the teachers and staff are amazing professionals and teach with heart! We know that we could not have chosen a better place for our son!
My husband and I are both products of public school education so we were hesitant to send our kids to a private school but once we toured the campus and saw how happpy the kids were we knew we had to apply. 11 years later, we have no regrets! MCDS is so much more than a school - it has changed our family for the better. Strong academics are a given (graduates are well prepared for high school); the faculty and staff really know your kids and work hard to make them succeed; kids love going to school; and at the end of 9 years, they come out the other end as pretty nice teenagers. We are a family of color and we appreciate that our kids have grown up in a school culture that celebrates difference and perspective.
I love it here! The food is amazing, the staff is kind and encouraging, and the students are welcoming and kind-hearted. I attended MCDS for 8 years, and I think it was the best decision I could have made. It is truly a good school and is the "right fit" for anybody. They prepare you really well for high school and they are inclusive for all levels and needs of learning.
