We cannot say enough good things about Marin Catholic. Our child has been welcomed by everyone; administration, teachers, students, coaches, teammates. They do a great job of welcoming freshmen. The academics are rigorous and a couple of hours per night, which we knew. It's college prep so, that was expected. The faith and service teachings have been outstanding. To those who criticize this, it IS a Catholic school! However, only about 50% of families are Catholic. It is great that public service for the underprivileged is encouraged. Like the rest of Marin, affluence is present. Our child plays a sport that is considered affluent and we were welcomed by everyone. I have not detected the "snooty" behavior I expected. Our child is very happy with the school and has already made a great, kind, core group of friends. There is plenty of academic support and social opportunities.

Marin Catholic harbors a dynamic, introspective learning environment that links the duality of a religious and academically viable institution. While the school is dominated by its athletic program, it produces top tier students with acceptances to some of the nation's premier institutions. Socially, there are strong, vibrant friend groups that unfortunately do not commingle very frequently. As the stereotypical high school that might appear in a 90's film, school pride is extensive which makes for a wonderful environment. Other than the exclusivity of certain friend groups and their premiership in the eye of the administration, the cohesive character of the school is both endearing, compassionate, and faithful to its core values. Like Marin County, the school lacks diversity in both its student and faculty populations. As a diocesan school, the it is slow to change when it comes to social issues.
Marin Catholic is located in Marin County because of this the student body tends to be all very similar: white, upper middle class. Students tend to be somewhat cliquey. Marin Catholic has some amazing teachers and some not-so -amazing teachers. The math department is notorious for its inability to teach. Counselors are unfortunately not very helpful but overall seem like kind hearted people. The administration trys to intimidate the student body and even punishes students for behavior done outside of school. However if one pushes themselves in the school and find their niche then they will be prepared for college and will have a good HS experience.
