My experience at Marian Catholic was great! While there are a couple things that are not so great, no school is perfect. However, I believe that the education that I received here was outstanding. The teachers are kind and work hard to challenge you. Yes, there is a lot of work but this is a college prep school. They also have so many opportunities to get students involved not only in the community but also outside. Counselors at Marian also work hard to prepare students for the college process.

Although a once abundant school with creative and intelligent faculty and students, Marian has become a playground for the unmotivated. As a member of the Marian Catholic band program, there is a high standard of excellence expected in both academics and through the band program. Through the years, the level of excellence has diminished because of the student’s attitudes. Classes of self-entitled students and inadequate teachers replace the lively graduates and retired teachers. The use of iPads is a requirement of a Marian student. They claim to be used in the majority of the classes, but through my experience I have found them to be an unnecessary distraction. I would prefer Marian do something about the attitudes of the children before they assimilate into the real world and acquire jobs. Nonetheless, I appreciate the fact that Marian has over prepared me for my academic career in college through its college prep classes.
I've gone to Marian all 4 years of my high school career! The school is absolutely amazing! Other than preparing myself for my life ahead of me, I've been placed in a family of Spartans. Never in my life have I felt more accepted or at home other than my own family. I would recommend Marian to anyone looking for the best private school in the Chicagoland area. I will be making frequent visits during and after my college career.
