Marian Catholic High School Reviews
Rating 3.92 out of 5 582 reviews
We chose Marian because our local high school was failing. We fell in love with the school during open house, and I think we had high expectations of a private school. I love the wide variety of classes, but they need teachers. For example, I was excited that my daughter could choose African American history and Human Anatomy to fulfill her history and science requirements, but the teachers that were hired were not skilled in the area, nor experienced teachers. It looks great on her transcript, but she doesn’t have the knowledge. We expected her to soar above those not receiving a private school education. We hope that we will see her stand out among the students she will attend college with, and that’s where we will see that paying all this money paid off. The culture of the school is great! The students, staff, and parents are Marian proud. They are able to keep the students engaged. The principal is trying to make the school great, we see his efforts. COVID is/was handled great!
Marian Catholic is a very calming and tranquil environment for education. It provides the proper setting that gives students the attentiveness they need to preform their daily tasks. Although the aura of the school is perfect, the physical environment is very challenging. Since we are a private school, we lack the funds that public schools receive. This results in a lack of temperature regulation in our building. There are days that the conditions are so overwhelming and we are allowed to bend our dress code and wear what is appropriate for the weather. This is unacceptable for a school that demands around 13k per year. As hard working students, we deserve to have an environment that helps us prosper. The temperature of our institution should aid our education not tear it down. Marian Catholic is filled will scholars and a wonderful education, but the weather conditions are destructive.
Couldn't ask for a better high school experience. Every single teacher I had was extremely patient, enthusiastic, and overall just willing to work with the class. I know I can't speak for everyone, but this was at least my experience. Faith life is also very good, especially having the experience to go on Kairos and to school masses. The introduction to community period really helped me to stay a little more on top of my work, definitely helping with stress levels. Honestly, campus is extremely easy to navigate after a few days and although it isn't top tier facilities, everything gets the job done. I've been able to notice subtle improvements across the whole school throughout the time I've been there, so I know there are always going to be small improvements here and there to keep everything rolling smooth.
