Margaret Brent Middle School Reviews

I liked how good the teachers were. They encouraged us and helped us prepare for high school. What I would like to see changed is the administrators involvement in the students' experiences. There were not many fights but it worsened the further I got in my education. I also wish they would do something different about recess. When it is acceptable to be outside, all the students can do is either play basketball or stand around and do nothing.

The culture at MBMS is in the toilet. If you ask students what the biggest problem with the school is, most will tell you it’s that there is no discipline. Students have gone too long with just having conversations instead of consequences, and now do whatever they want. Kids cuss at teachers, yell the f-word in the halls, and are constantly wandering the halls. Administration is finally trying to fix things, but it’s too little too late. There are some incredible teachers, but the staff as a whole is not connected or functioning as a team. Hopefully there are big changes over the summer for this school. It has the potential to be great, but is currently far from that.
The principal has driven this cool down into the ground. She does not have a handle on discipline and doesn't support her teachers. She has some wonderful teachers and if you busy body, brown-nosers you have no interest in doing what's right for the children only pleasing the principal who is clueless. Discipline does not exist in this school. The kids are running wild and she is doing our future high schoolers a great Injustice with her pathetic leadership.
