I am currently a Maret School grandmother. My daughter attended, and now her son attends. For that reason, I am one of the oldest people involved with the school, although several teachers are also still there. The teachers are amazing and are there because they simply love teaching. The youth from K-12 are extremely disciplined (all 650 students assembling for a fire drill without speaking a word; and the dismissal of K-12 music performances without a sound are examples), and as in my daughter, it is said that the students Run to get to school. Life long learning!!! My daughter, although bring accepted to all other local private schools, loved the school so much, that she wanted her son to be nurtured by the life long learning experience. Hungry to learn students, motivated teachers parents involvement, and top leadership are key factors to this scholastic learning Power house!
I would like to have more land to expand!

I am the parent of three Maret alumni, all of whom started in kindergarten. Each of them, though very different individuals, had a fabulous experience at Maret. We could not be happier with the high-quality academics, sports, and other extracurriculars the school provided them. The ongoing strong sense of Maret community has benefited our entire family. All three of my children were well-prepared academically to attend rigorous colleges post-graduation and were recruited varsity athletes at their respective higher educational institutions. They - and we as a family - are still very involved with their Maret alma mater.
My child was recruited for two sports to Maret, but I have been disappointed so far. Maret doesn't even have an athletic field, and we have to bus to use a public park provided by the DC government, and no one wants us there, because the public school kids aren't allowed to use it-only we can use it afterschool. Maret talks a lot about diversity and community, but I wish it would live the values it talks about--it isn't fair that my private school kids use a field while poorer kids aren't allowed to use it.
