Through my many years at Maret, I have learned just how fantastic of a school it is. The teachers are incredibly accessible which makes it a fun and inviting academic environment. The academics are very, very rigorous. And as much as us Maret students like to complain about our workload, it's been worth it from my experience. Not only have I learned important content, but I have learned how to think, how to approach problems, and how to live life with an open and accepting mind. The extracurriculars, arts, and sports are amazing as well and foster a unique sense of community. As corny as it sounds, the community at Maret welcomes diversity and strives for inclusion. The thing I love most about Maret though is the people. I've met by best friends at Maret and have been educated by some of the smartest and kindest teachers. Maret has prepared me so incredibly well for college and beyond and I am so thankful for my experience at the school.

The community has been invaluable and some of the people here have really changed me as a person. However, the academic rigor definitely made me and most of my friends miserable at times. It is very difficult because it feels like if you miss one day, you end up miles behind. The fast pace and heavy workload are manageable if you stay on top of it, but if you end up getting behind, the only thing that can save you is if you luck out with good teachers and a good advisor.
Maret is great because not only are you receiving a top quality education from amazing teachers in a well-run institution, but the kids are all genuinely nice and the focus of the school is about diversification of activities but excellence in everything you do. You're able to play sports, do the musical, and be in four AP or Honors level classes all in the same year, something that a lot of schools not only don't recommend but actively discourage. Some of my favorite experiences have been the musicals (I've been in all three during my time in high school) because they are well put together, fun to do, and a great way for kids who might not normally hang out together (there isn't a "musical" crowd at the school, everyone who likes to sing and wants to do the musicals is encouraged to and other students respect and enjoy the musical) to get to know each other.
