At a first glance, MIT Academy does not look like your typical high school. The classrooms are trailers, there are no sports fields, and the school is right next to a farm. Yes a farm! But once you look past the poor campus facilities you can see that MIT has a great sense of community. The students look out for each other and the teachers provide all their students all the support that they need. Yes we may not have the pretties school but education wise the academics that we have at the school have been recognized and awarded for being one of the best schools in the country.

Overall, what I enjoyed about Mare Island Technology as the diversity in our school. Everyone got along with each other and there was no discrimination. However, what needs to change is definitely the campus. There are times where students and staff get injured due to the various cracks we have in our school facility. The buildings sometimes leak and there are cases where the chairs are literally broken in half. There is also no school spirit whatsoever due to the lack of sports and low budget dances. Stimulation is scarce in MIT and lately there have been fights to increase the drought of spirit.
I've been at MIT Academy since 6th grade and it's crazy to believe that i will be graduating in a few months, to be exact i will be graduating in 3 months. Time has been going by so fast, so many memories at this schools it's going to be hard leaving this school. It will be very exciting graduating with the class of 2020 since the majority of us know each other and have been here since 6th grade. Something that i like about this school is how diverse it is and how every year it tries and grows bigger. Something that i wasn't very fond of was not having free periods but at the same time i do understand. Another thing that i did like was that this school has prepared us for college, this school has a lot of requirements to graduate, having 9 units of college is also something that prepares us for college. My overall experience at this school has been great, my friends and teachers have helped me with this experience and i am sad but glad to leave this school.
