I have always gone to Mapleton and it is a great school! It is a very rural school with a lot of farmers and down home people. If you love knowing everyone in your school, then this is the school for you! All the students, teachers, and staff are great and you honestly know everyone by first name. But, if you like a lot of diversity and clubs/organizations you might want to keep moving. Being in small town America, the school lacks many minority groups. Also, with it being such a small school it is hard to fund many organizations and sports. The football team is definitely favored more over every other sport offered even though we are division 7 and terrible... But, overall, I think this school is a great place to go!

The teachers at this school were amazing and always had good intentions but the administration was just awful. I have never had a good experience with them. My favorite day was graduation because I knew I’d never have to come back. To this school it seems as though safety is a joke and disciplining is a fun thing to just toss around and play with. They never listened to any complaints that any students had and then shamed those students for reporting problems or unsafe conditions. The administration was nothing short of a laughing stock. It seems like Mr. Bode the agriculture teacher really drove me to get into college and to do what I had always wanted too. And the math teacher, Mrs. Ebert or Coneley now, was one of the best teachers I have ever had.
Mapleton High School is a smaller, country side school. This allows you to become closer with your classmates, which in my opinion is good. But there isn't a lot of diversity here. Also, just recently the new principal has pushed the school board to try and offer more courses & clubs. The only bad thing about this is there was more new classes offered to the middle school, not many new classes offered to the high school.
What I would change about this school is the focus on the music program, they do not get a lot of attention/credit due to the focus being on sports. Which the teams, in my opinion, are mediocre.
