Manhattan Village Academy is one of the best school's in the city. It is a public school that outshines some of the best specialized high schools in New York. The staff is excellent and seems to care about the students. The coursework is rigorous and will surely push any student to their limits. As time goes on, the school adds on to it's list of AP courses. These courses are not only difficult, but truly improve college readiness in students. Overall, this is an institution that I recommend to any student looking to improve their chances of not only getting into a great college, but actually being prepared for college itself!

Coming out of this school is different for everyone. The best thing this school offers is college readiness. They offer up to more than 10 AP classes for all grades. We are also required to achieve an advanced regents diploma to be able to be above than average. This is one of the top high schools in the country competing with specialized high schools like Bronx Science. If you want your child to be successful academically, send them here. One of the drawbacks of this school is that there are no extra-curricular or any clubs after school.
The teachers are truly amazing— putting in extra time to help students everyday after school. They not only teach the curriculum need, but methodology and critical reasoning for doing things a certain way. Teachers openly share life stories and make class fun and worthwhile. The staff is very enduring and helps the students with anything (including giving supplies like posters and markers for project...for free). The only things that make MVA displeasing is the overly judgmental and overbearing principal and the high pressure placed on students to perform well. Although, the teachers really help with relieving stress.
