My time at Mandeville High School was an unforgettable and valuable learning experience which helped lay the foundation for me to enroll in college and pursue my career with confidence. I learned valuable skills and made many friendships and connections that helped shape me in ways that will last a lifetime. Every high school can be a roller coaster, but the ups and downs were worth it to graduate from Mandeville High and enter into college well prepared and informed.
Mandeville High had many clubs, sports, and classes for people with varying interests. The honors and gifted classes were a small size which made for a great learning experience and environment. It greatly prepped us for college.
I love Mandeville High School. I hate to have my daughter leave, but graduation must take place. The parent involvement in sporting events is amazing. The resources available to the students are great. If I could change anything, I think I would say that I wish some of the teachers had a little more compassion about what has been going on with the COVID situation. It lingered way longer than anyone wished, and that took a toll on the teachers and the students, but some teachers have not been as compassionate about it as others.
Overall, Mandeville High School is a great school, and it has so many benefits that make student’s attendance amazing, however many of the staff are very hypocritical when it comes to students, and there are many rules in place that are not even enforced. Plus, the school grounds are in awful shape it is often hard to maneuver from class to class on a rainy day with out getting your feet soaking wet from the gigantic dips in the sidewalks not to mention the huge potholes in the roads and the mice you often see around campus. For any germ obsessed people, I would recommend not attending this school as the chewed gum all over walls and seats, and the mice running around would most likely be found unbearable to these so called germ obsessed people; However if these down sides are not too much for your children, then I recommend you send them to Mandeville High School, which has a beautiful foyer (But hiding behind these frequently seen areas is true disgust), so it’s up to you!
It's a good school, there are some minor issues like a few not great teachers. Overall it was a good time compared to the other public schools in the area.
The teachers here take there job very seriously and always make sure their student are taken care of. Everyone here is very friendly and accepting.
I love the school. As a student who cares deeply about her education, I applaud Mandeville High School's education system. Their rules are fair. Their clubs and activities are plenty. The overall feel of the school is that of a very sophisticated public school, which is exactly what MHS is.
I transferred here from a different school and it was very easy to find good friends. I have also had many teachers that I loved.
Mandeville doesn’t really excel at anything. It’s got average to good academics, sports, and any other general criteria. However, despite its mediocrity, it contains something I haven’t experienced at any other school. Mandeville has the strongest community aspect of any institution I’ve been to, and the possibilities are endless when talking about clubs and ways to get involved. Be it chess, football, robotics, there’s something for just about everyone and I’ve really grown to appreciate it. Additionally, some of the best teachers in my lifetime come from Mandeville, and some of my favorite moments within the classrooms. If you’re looking for a school to slingshot you to Ivy Leagues, this is not it. But if you want to get the most out of high school, enjoy life, and get involved, I could not recommend it more.
your marijuana facts on your home page are completely outrageous its good for some kids and adults depending on what helps them or not. heard from other childrens parents that the school is racially profiled, teachers arent doing their job, they dont follow dress code they sent my kid home for wearing jeans with rips on them, that where(as dresscode follows) PATCHED and they wouldnt let him wear that. this school disgusts me.
I’m new so it’s hard making new friends. I joined a lot of clubs to make friends. It’s different than my old school where I was there from kindergarten til a senior. That’s when I switched schools.
Teachers are all above average with a nice percentage of them being outstanding. The administration are generally competent, but relatively conservative.
Great teachers and warm environment. Events reward students for doing well and great events for seniors (except 2020)
I am now a Junior at MHS and I have to say I am having the best experience! They have clubs for everyone! The teachers are very informal and have different teaching mechanisms which can benefit every student. Though it is slightly over populated the teachers and staff do their best to give ALL kids the best experience!
Graduated in 2020 and I spent most of the time at school wishing I was home, I think that's enough said.
Mandeville High has the most caring teachers, administration, and faculty. The school spirit is amazing; the student body is diverse and friendly. Everyone at MHS cares about you, your success, and your future. The teachers do whatever they can to help you succeed.
This school desperately needs new leadership, needs permanent buildings, and better drainage. Bullying has been a huge problem for years at this school, and the administration has yet to address this significant issue. The administration doesn’t encourage uniqueness. They are complacent and encourage mediocrity. Fights at this school are very prevalent. There are some teachers that do care about their students, but for the most part, the school tends to focus most on their mediocre sports instead of academics.
