Mandela International Magnet School Reviews
Rating 4.06 out of 5 17 reviews
One of the standout features of Mandela International Magnet School is its commitment to diversity and inclusion. It's more than just a school; it's a vibrant, multicultural community where students from all walks of life come together to learn, grow, and forge lasting friendships. This cultural melting pot has enriched my understanding of the world and broadened my horizons in ways I could have never imagined.
The curriculum at Mandela is rigorous and intellectually stimulating. It challenges us to think critically, solve real-world problems, and become global citizens. The emphasis on experiential learning, community service, and international perspectives sets Mandela apart from other schools. Whether we're participating in Model United Nations, embarking on international exchange programs, or engaging in community service projects, there are endless opportunities for personal growth and development.

Nice small school setting. The IB is relatively new in the school, certain teachers do not possess the ability to teach it well. The rigor and stress inflicted upon the children, starting grade 10, is abundant compared to the likes of public school in the district. On top of this, majority of students who have graduated admit the program is not the worth it. There are no highschool sports offered at MIMS, just the ability to play for a real highschool in your district. The electives offered are pitiful, you have the choice of mandarin or Spanish for language, and then just the choice of an art (visual art, performing arts, music, etc). The cons outweigh the benefits of attending this small, safe school. I recommend they attend a different school unless they love stress and a poor mental health.
I wish I had better understood the IB and Diploma Program before sending my child in Middle School; I feel a little misled by the school at the time of the open house & application.
He has had quite a few excellent teachers, but I wish he could take Physics and there were some electives built into the schedule.
