I really like MHS. All the teachers are caring and want you to do well. They will help you with any questions you have and even spend time one on one over materials that you may not fully understand. There are also a lot of clubs and extracurricular activities to participate in. There is bound to be something you will enjoy. Besides the basic required classes, there are also other elective classes you can choose from such as music, arts, woodworking, sewing, cooking, and many more. You can choose any elective classes to try out and see if you enjoy them. Overall, MHS is a great school. And I appreciate that the lunch ladies are trying out new and different varieties of food. Love it here!
Maize High School has been a place of comfort and acceptance for all students. No matter the background, political affiliation, religion, sexuality, or other differences, the administration of MHS has made it a point to help students find their place and feel heard. It is a wonderful place that I have been lucky enough to get an education from!
I've been attending Maize Senior High School for 4 months now and have already had amazing experiences. Going into high school was scary, considering this is my freshman year, I was dreading everything about it. Yet, after meeting my teachers and peers, it's been quite a ride. I've had many opportunities that I've taken, such as being a part of Business Professionals of America (BPA), Maize Band, Seatbelts Are For Everyone (SAFE) and starting my first year of wrestling. I was encouraged to be a part of these clubs by teachers and other students that I've made friends with, I met the right people who support and make me happy. Months ago, I wouldn't have pictured myself being as involved as I am or being a social butterfly. I can't picture spending my next 4 years anywhere else.
