Maine South is an prime example of what a high school should be. With great academics, teachers, school culture, and the resources provided, it is no surprise that this school is one of the best in the state. Some changes that I would personally make as a Junior at Maine South high school are the diversity and the food provided. There is very little diversity of students and teachers through the entire school and I feel like different cultures are not completely represented because of the lack of diversity. The food is decent, what you'd expect of a typical high school, but I believe it is overpriced for what it is and it doesn't seem sanitary. Overall, however, Maine South truly achieves excellence and never stops impressing me as the years go by!

Maine South High School prepares it's students for college by offering above average teachers, programs and facilities. The school is located in upper middle class Park Ridge Illinois, which is comprised is a mostly white neighborhood, luckily it is located close enough to Chicago to give students an opportunity to explore culture and diversity that the school itself is lacking. I felt like Maine South gave me a solid foundational education to head into college without feeling overwhelmed and the sports programs were always properly funded. The school provides a safe environment for students to learn in and has up to date technology in it's computer labs and library. I would recommend Maine South High School if you can afford the expensive northwest suburb of Park Ridge. It is definitely the top school in the area, and one of the top high schools in Illinois.
The best thing I liked about Maine South was most of the teachers are the best I could have ever asked for. They have changed my life and brought it towards what I could have never asked for more today. I am humbled and fortunate to have all of these teachers throughout my high school years, and I won't forget the ones who have affected my life in a positive way!
