I loved my time at Maimonides! The school ensures that students leave with a great education in both Judaic and Secular studies. The classes are taught by wonderful, devoted teachers who build strong relationships with the students. The personal interactions are a unique feature of this school that can make any student feel comfortable. Maimonides has built a culture where the students support each other while also challenging each other to achieve the most that they can. Being a Jewish School, Judaism is sewn into the fabric of the school with a foundation built upon Jewish values, Jewish classes throughout the day, and opportunities to learn and develop Jewish identities. Students here, are known for their advanced Talmudic skills and Derech Eretz (respectful behavior). Maimonides manages to perfectly balance the seriousness of an academically-focused school, with a supportive culture that comes with being a smaller school.
This school produces extremely strong students who will excel later in life. Maimonides is also beginning to modernize, recognizing its responsibility to educate students about real world issues that might fall outside the common borders of education. The Maimonides administration has been hard at work, improving faculty-student/parent relations significantly over the past 5 years. They have also developed a goal for a more student centered approach which is sure to benefit the school and its students greatly in the coming years. Backed by its incredible teachers and community, Maimonides is a school with a strong foundation that will continue to grow and improve over the coming years into a thriving modern-Orthodox hub for education and living.
I had an amazing experience at Maimonides. I started attending the school in kindergarten and went there through 12th grade, all the while building amazing relationships with my classmates and teachers. In my years at the school I learned so much in my secular and judaic classes and have many memories from the non-academic components as well, such as the many clubs and from spending time with the close friends I have found at Maimonides. One very special part of the school is the teachers with whom anyone can talk or spend time, whether discussing academics or matters completely unrelated to school.
