MacArthur High School Reviews
Rating 3.62 out of 5 242 reviews
I’ve only been at MacArthur for a year, but what I’ve seen in my time there is the inclusivity and involvement of everyone in the school! There are so many clubs and sports available that there is sure to be something for everyone! I’ve done cross country, track, key club, astronomy club, FBLA, NHS, FCA, and the musical all in one year. People will reach out to you whether you are new or just looking to become more involved in the school. The teachers, staff, and students are all so kind and willing to help. While there are less academic courses offered than many other schools, there are still many AP options as well as dual enrollment at Cameron University or VOTEC. MacArthur is overall a great school!
The staff and students really feel like just one big family. Everyone gets along and there are rarely any problems at the school. The sports teams and clubs are really put together, and they have a very structured system. The staff treat the students with respect and in return many of the students give respect back. Having people you can confide in is super important, and you can find those people in the halls at Mac. Whether it be from a teacher or a peer, you can find someone to talk to in the school walls. There's hardly any bulling and everyone gets treated equally. Many students have pride in going to Mac and they wear that pride on their sleeve. I am one of those people. I have never been more proud to go to a school in my life.
What I liked about MacArthur High School was the support group and the academic program. MacArthur has good teacher's that'll do anything to help other's that are struggling. The support is always there. When I was a Freshmen in MacArthur, teacher's where always to ask for help and make sure you have everything you. I played volleyball in all 4 years in high school, everyone was so supportive and helped us to get more recognized so more people would come to our games, at first MacArthur wasn't so big on sport's but when my junior year hit, the teacher's, some player's and some student's helped our volleyball team and any other sport to be recognized. I'm happy to say that I graduated from MacArthur High School. Mac has helped me get ready for college and what I would accept when I do. I've gotten so much help from teacher and some student's, our community there is so helpful. I and most of the student's that go there feel safe, the faculty and the cops are so nice and caring.
