The teachers there are very good, they care about the student’s education, mental health, physical health. If a student can’t get a ride to school some teachers will get an uber for them to be able to get to school. The main problem is the students many students do not care for an education, they will do drugs in the school and in classrooms, because they do not care. Something I would like to change is how students get disciplined, as of last year it was very hard to get disciplined when students would miss behaved.
So far, it has been an amazing journey at Lyon High. The culture is really diverse and I almost always learn something new about another person. Debate was the first extracurricular that caught my eyes, and I had amazing coaches that shown many perspectives to certain inherency's. Despite enjoying extracurriculars, and the culture, I do believe that some things could be strengthened within the community. Overall, it has been a new learning experience mentally.
It has been good so far this year! I have enjoyed the teachers time and effort working with students, this has made learning more efficient since the teachers take their time to make sure everyone is on the same page and if someone if left behind the teachers can make time for them. This being my first year at this high school I was nervous because I thought I wouldn’t be able to fit in, but I made a lot of friends who want similar objectives to me making it easier to communicate with others and not feeling excluded.
