Lycée Français de New York Reviews
Student's perspective: the LFNY's strong focus on the French language, on HLP and the development of critique, coupled with continual availability and support from the teaching staff through built-in, after-class 'dialogue' (tutoring) hours, the Lycée excels in its preparation of the students' readiness for the Baccalaureate exams. In terms of student life and school spirit: regardless of their cultural origin, the students are united and bonded by the common thread of the French language.
Parent's perspective: from lunch helper in Primary to participation in event committees and/or occupying a position in the APL (parent liaison to the school administration), parental involvement while voluntary is welcome and encouraged.
The school is very well run. Communication is strong at all levels. There is a strong sense of community at the school. Parents are very involved and friendly. Facilities are top notch.
If you are interested in creating citizens of the world, this is the school for you. We don’t speak French at home or have any real connection to France but our children speak French like natives. It is amazing to see these New York City children switch between French and English flawlessly. The school takes the best of the French curriculum and the American curriculum.
Our children are happy to go to school every day. We are delighted we chose the Lycee for our children.
