I felt incredibly prepared academically, socially, and spiritually for college and beyond after attending LHSS. The challenging and engaging curriculum fostered academic growth and success both inside and outside of the classroom. The faculty and staff didn't just teach students content in the classroom, but different methods for learning and studying that material. The study skills I gained during my time at Lutheran South are skills that I carried with me to college, and now to graduate school. All of this being done in an environment that keeps Christ at the center of its focus. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience at Lutheran South!

This school is very overrated. Though some of the teachers are very nice and relaxed, there are some teachers that treat students like crap if you don’t perform well in their class, even the nice/friendly teachers don’t act like this. It disheartens me to have to see my child come home from school with tears in their eyes and it wasn’t even the kids’ fault but the teacher(s’) fault! Unbelievable.
Lutheran South is, from an educational standpoint, a very well-oiled school, with a very solid teaching system with enough resources to ready your child for school. Unfortunately, however, the school culture isn’t absolutely horrid. If you aren’t white, wealthy, and a very devout christian, chances are you’re not going to feel home. I was one of three minority students in a class of 100, and it is a very isolated experience. Everyone acts privileged and snotty, and frankly I would not recommend this school to anyone who doesn’t have blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin, a church membership, and a hefty savings account.
