COVID-19 Update for Prospective Students and Families:
We believe that kids need to be back in class to grow socially, emotionally, spiritually, and academically. We also want our students to be healthy. Part of that health means them being able to return to a more normal academic experience. We encourage students who are not vaccinated or wish to be cautious to continue wearing masks and take health precautions such as frequent handwashing…

Lutheran High School of San Antonio Reviews
Rating 4.37 out of 5 73 reviews
We are so happy that we discovered Lutheran High School for our daughter! She is genuinely happy to go to school each day.
The academics are excellent. There are several Honors and AP options (History, English, Calculus I & II, Comp Science, Spanish etc) as well as dual credit engineering classes. Importantly, the students are not stressed out and miserable because the teachers and social environment are supportive and nurturing. Bullying and other toxic social issues that are prevalent at other schools are not present here.
Athletics are top notch and welcoming to all abilities. Home games and even out of town games are well-attended by students, faculty and parents even if they don't have an athlete on the team. The Robotics, E-Sports, One Act Play etc provide excellent extracurricular opportunities.
Overall, the school provides a quietly superior environment to educate and prepare intelligent and compassionate students for college.

I'm a parent of a graduating senior and a freshman coming next year. My senior's experience at Lutheran has been exceptional! She has been challenged academically all four years and was able to take advantage of multiple extracurricular activities! The level and amount of classwork/homework has her well prepared for college next year. She has also learned leadership skills through participating in STUCO, robotics, and being a leader on her sports teams. Through robotics, she had the opportunity to speak in front of professional engineers and college professors as part of their outreach.
One of the things I value the most, is the teachers' concern with her overall well being first and foremost. Being a Christian school is more than just "in the name". They genuinely are concerned about her faith life and willingly discuss issues and questions.
I'm excited to see what my freshman will choose to be part next year!

I graduated Lutheran High over 4 years ago and I still go visit whenever I can. The teachers genuinely care about their students in and out of the classroom, and want to see and hear about their successes. They would also rather talk to you and figure out your struggle(s) than sit by and hope you figure it out. The class sizes will always fit the needs. Extracurricular activities are growing by the year and students are always able to ask for new clubs and activities. In fact, sports like cheer, football, and golf wouldn't be what they are today without the students of the past who advocated for them. Activities like Chess Club and Anime club were popular when I went, and I'd be really excited to see if either made a comeback! LHS also has an up-and-coming esports team, and with colleges giving scholarships for the best competitors, it's a good idea to participate if you're interested! Sporting events are always exciting for students and families!
