Lubbock-Cooper High School Reviews
Rating 4.03 out of 5 179 reviews
Lubbock-Cooper High School, like any other school, promises to keep students safe, happy, and healthy, but they aren’t 100% truthful with this promise. Bullying, racism, sexism, and homophobia are encountered every single day. The teenagers at this school are cruel, but what’s worse is the staff is too. Hispanics and other students of color are told they “look suspicious” and are then searched with no evidence that they are hiding anything. Bullying is high on the list as well, kids are cruel, but that isn’t an excuse for ignoring that it’s happening. So yes, Lubbock-Cooper High School is an average school because ignoring these problems seems to be an issue many schools have developed. If schools make a promise to keep kids safe, they should honor it.
Lubbock-Cooper is a great district. I feel that there is not a perfect school system out there because that would imply that they are able to meet the needs of each and every one of their students daily and I just don't think that exists. Parents are relatively involved in the high school. At least those that can be. Most parents work which makes it difficult to be able to do all the things but on the whole, most parents show up for their children. The education is great and they offer a wide variety of dual credit options for any student. I love that my children will be able to graduate with almost a whole year of college.
I love how safe our school is! I’ve never once felt like I was unsafe or unsure of my safety. I also love the classes they offer. Most schools don’t have the elective courses we do. Lastly, I love our administration and teachers, they always have the students best interest at heart. One thing I would change is our school food. I’ve gotten sick eating here.
