My son just graduated from Loyola. High marks for the school on turning out high-quality young men who care about their friends and communities. The education is rigorous and while not all of my son's teachers would receive an "A," many are outstanding. I felt that the school was behind the times for students with an interest in engineering/technology as the targeted outcome for students seems to be more focused on law, business, finance tracks. Overall, my son enjoyed the experience and feels very prepared for his freshman year at a top college!

Loyola High School has a great mix of almost everything you are looking for in a high school for your son! It is academically challenging and preps you for college (definitely no grade inflation here!) and strives to develop the whole person: body, mind, and soul. There's numerous clubs and activities for all.
Beginning and ending each day in a prayer to remind the boys of how blessed they are and how they are to work hard to be leaders and men for others. And all of this is easier to achieve because there are no distractions- no girls! At lunch, the boys are not trying to impress anyone, just being themselves, and
enjoying their buddies company. Wish I could say it is an excellent school, but it isn't a perfect school, a little set in traditions and all of the teachers aren't wonderful... My son grew and matured into a very well-rounded confident, God-loving young man thanks to Loyola High School!
I like the school. However there are a number of things I would like to see changed. For one the supplies for clubs feels like they are largely giving heavy funding to some areas while others are struggling for scraps. Furthermore, your experience academically is largely due to who your teachers are. While this is an obvious aspect of every school, it feels as if some teachers are far harder than others which results in either grade in inflation or deflation, if you will. In addition, the teaching styles are often extreme in terms of differences which is a good or a bad depending on how you look at it. On one hand, their are teachers who write some course material but it is often for parts of the class that do not need to be there. Lastly, the food has been seeing price hikes since I've been going there.
