I'd really like to see the administrators take care of scheduling: every year I've been here, I've had major scheduling conflicts. These have stopped me from taking classes that I wanted to and several APs. This, I believe, will give me a substantial disadvantage when applying to college.
Also, the band program is extremely problematic. Band is supposed to be an elective, yet the director, Erin Stroup, expects you to come to 2 hours rehearsals throughout the year. He also forces every band member to participate in Pep Band as a grade (every other school has Pep Band as an extracurricular). He does not respect the students' time and something needs to be done.
The teachers here really need to TEACH. They expect to learn on your own. The school recently wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars on Chromebooks that no student I have spoken to has been in favor of, and some teachers are using these to be lazy. They need to give more guidance, rather than assigning a video to teach us.

The teachers and workload is good and bearable, but there is little to no diversity at this school. Plus, many of the students are into druguse, whether it be electronic cigarettes or weed. There are some bathrooms that you shouldn't enter at certain times of the day because there'll be students 'juuling' in there. I feel like the school/district doesn't do much to fix this problem.
Lower Moreland offers students a diverse environment for safe learning with plenty of support. Both of my students have thrived both in the educational aspect and in the social aspect during their time at Lower Moreland. They have been offered challenging and exciting electives along with the opportunity to attend technical school to earn college credits while still in high school. I highly recommend Lower Moreland to all families!
