At Lovejoy High School the teachers and administrators provided us with high-quality education and opportunities for social, arts, and sporting activities. I enjoyed having the freedom to choose different kinds of clubs and be part of certain fundraisers. It was a time to also figure out who, among my friends, I could develop healthy and long-lasting friendships with. The teachers were great, respectful, passionate, and helpful.
In my 9th grade, I was able to meet a great Biology teacher who had vast knowledge of Biology and always tried to have fun in her class. She handled serious issues with students well and always tried to solve them. She had impacted my life with basic biology knowledge that I had gotten interested in it for a long time during high school.

Since moving to Lucas Texas and attending Lovejoy High School, I've found a community of people that understand and believe in me daily. It's a great school with amazing staff and teachers who try their best to give their students the opportunities they deserve!
Academic policies inhibit student responsibility, college preparation and proactive study skills. These policies negatively impact teacher morale (i.e., high turnover). Additionally the lack of school administration’s visibility and accessibility to students and parents contribute to diminished school culture which does not value all students. The high school counselors have not scheduled student appointments to discuss and plan high school program/course selectionp nor college preparation and application process (letters of recommendations) for multiple years.
