I love my High School, Lovejoy High School. I remember my first day of High School like it was yesterday. Immediately, it felt like a home to me. Everyone welcomed me with smiles and laughter. All the fear and nervousness I walked in with left me quickly, and soon I adjusted and became an LHS Wildcat! Like any school, Lovejoy does fall short at times. The administrators and teachers are not always on the same page. There are many interruptions in the announcements throughout the school day. In addition, the school is too small for its growing population. The school would prosper if Lovejoy were renovated and had state-of-the-art equipment and technology. As well as a stronger administrative team and teachers who love their jobs and children.
This school has been amazing to me. Lovejoy High will really prepare you for real life situations. Classes are given to you based on academic performance and these will go on to help you get into college and maybe even go into college with credits. The staff is the best I've ever witnessed and they are loving, kind, caring, and more! I would always choose this school over anything. Everyone here is here to help you successfully graduate and set you up to be great in life!
Lovejoy Highschool may seem like a place full of “love” and “joy”, but being here for three going on four years has been a horrid experience. Now , I have had slightly beautiful experiences like: Meeting my first Highschool crush and growing into a better person. Overall though, my experience with the school itself was not okay, and here’s why: My ninth grade year, I was getting bullied everyday because I always wore the same shoes, and the administration never helped. Every year that we receive schedules there’s error, and the Counselor that I am assigned to never helps me with anything! Lastly, the teaching. If Lovejoy Highschool, had teachers who actually cared about teaching and found it in their heart to teach, the school would be amazing. You may ask what would I change about Lovejoy Highschool? I would hire a team of people happy to come to work everyday and give us students’ something they would keep with them for the rest of their lives—a give of knowledge.
