Thank you to Rochester Catholic Schools and Lourdes High School for their partnership in education, faith, and character. We cherish the supportive culture, continued friendships with families, and genuine care for the well-being of our children. You gave each of them a valued foundation to take into the world. Go Eagles!
If you are looking for a smaller, safer, and nurturing environment for your kids with high academic rigor and expectations combined with great athletics programs and family supportive community then would highly consider this private school. Although a Catholic High School, it has a significant proportion of non-catholic families and in essence is more of a private school than traditional catholic schools. Graduates have all commented on how well prepared they are for university life afterwards compared to their public school peers and nearly all graduates go on to college/university with many at top tiers centers and scholarship recipients. Tuition is very reasonable compared to other private schools in the cities and worth it if you want your kids learning to do the "right thing" and coming out as good citizens of our future. It is significantly smaller compared to public school options and not as diverse, but this allows smaller class sizes for better learning.
We were skeptical initially of joining RCS, but it has been a great decision, and have not looked back at public school except for why we didn't switch earlier. The smaller classes, the curriculum, the staff, the academic and extra curriculars - all have been an improvement over the public schools. No theft, no fights, no lockdowns for brawls in the hallways. It's what a high school should be. The expectations are higher, and the challenges build strong characters. With an education rooted in the objective truth of the faith, this school is truly wonderful.
