Our daughter has been at Collegiate since 1st grade and has had the best experiences. She is starting high school in the Fall and loves going to school. How many middle schoolers say that, right? I don’t understand the B grading on diversity I’m seeing because the school is truly a melting pot of races, religions, demographics, political leanings, family structures, zip codes, etc. All A+ rankings from our family!

My experience at LCS has helped shape me into the driven individual I am today. The cornerstones of respect, responsibility, honor, and compassion are followed by the community, and rules against cheating, stealing, and lying are punished severely. Many teachers help students intimately in their coursework, and success is fostered through compassion and motivation. Expectations of students is high and homework often takes me several hours at night. It is difficult to maintain a high GPA, and competition over best grades and standardized test scores causes extreme stress in high schoolers. We are told that we are expected to change the world, and I know as I finish my last year here that they have built a young person well-equipped with verbal, written, and creative skills. Because of my education and mentors dedicated to my success here, I can go confidently in the direction of my dreams knowing I am capable of moving mountains and leaving a mark for myself in this world.
As someone who has had to move many times throughout my youth, I can say that of the nine schools I’ve attended, Collegiate has undoubtedly provided the best community and education I could ask for. Teachers are invested in not only their students’ academic growth but also their emotional and social wellbeing. Students are self-driven to excellence but also always willing to take breaks from their academics to make time for their community. The small classes allow for strong inter-grade relationships, especially with student-run activities such as Pearl Project, Movie Night, and Pizza Bingo. The school has been working hard to increase its student body diversity through merit scholarships, generous financial aid, and recruitment. I could not recommend this school more, and I owe my work ethic, social consciousness, and positive outlook on life to this institution.
