The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and The Arts is a public residential high school stationed in Louisiana's beautiful Northwestern State University's campus. The school bases its admissions on an application process for high school sophomores through seniors. Overall, the school is very challenging for students due to its college-level academics as well as its new environment that requires students to become independent to become successful. Because of this, the school is a great college-prep program that places an importance on academics but also excels in providing students with other opportunities in arts, community service, and student life, creating an amazing, close-knit community.

I absolutely love everything about this school! The lsmsa culture is so diverse and inclusive, and there are so many different types of people. Everybody is super supportive of each other and we are able to get super close with the teachers. I wouldn’t trade these experiences with anything else.
I had a great experience. Living away from home can be hard, but LSMSA provides students with all the necessary resources to continue being successful. The cafeteria is great. Teachers are very understanding. Every teacher is required to have many office hours that students can take advantage of and work one on one with their teachers. There are even host families for students that sign up for them.
The classes, although difficult at times, are very interesting. Almost every teacher has their terminal degree and classes run much better here than they did at my old school. All the classes are college level and some colleges accept them as college credit.
LSMSA offers more than just academic opportunities for students. There are over 100 clubs and man different sports teams.
LSMSA offers a great environment for any student.
