Loudoun School for Advanced Studies Reviews
Rating 4.25 out of 5 8 reviews
The classes are only offered once so you’re very limited in what classes you can take. (If two classes are offered at the same time you can only take one, so you often aren’t able to take any interesting electives because core classes get in the way.) the teachers are a coin flip. Some are outstanding, while others have few social skills and seem unaware of what’s going on. They do push us to be our best though, and there are some interesting courses offered.
Brilliant teachers who always have time for another question, know the answers, and know how to teach where to find answers. The entire LSAS staff demonstrates life-long learning and are passionate educators.
LSAS pivoted to on-line learning within a day of the state shutting down schools due to COVID-19. As it was before COVID-19 and will be after, the school provides high-quality educational experience with fully engaged students and faculty. LSAS provides sanity, structure, and support for students with a strong emphasis on emotional health - enabling persistent deep learning opportunities.
The new school campus is amazing: excellent scientific lab spaces, creative spaces, study cubicles, cozy library, and spacious grounds that include a historical site and old trees. We look forward to getting back to the school building once it is safe to do so.

LSAS offers a very challenging, yet inclusive and welcoming, experience for students who have intellectual curiosity and take learning seriously, while being respectful of, and caring for, one another. The teachers are excellent and well-loved among the students. Highly recommend this school for all high-achieving students who really care about their studies and want to be prepared for college-level work and independence.
