While at Los Al I was lucky enough to have Dr. Martinez as my principal. He is seriously one of the coolest dudes, always taking an interest in the students and their activities or just sharing a random word and smile. For me personally, senior year was the best with great experiences in both Vocal Production and the Choir's year-end show. These classes led by Dherlin and Moellenkamp, respectively, are top-notch in every aspect. I would recommend both classes for students seeking true camaraderie. Other favorite teachers are Hooper, Helm, Chavez, and Courtemarche. Los Al also offers a variety of clubs and other activities like the talent show and Griffin Games. While attending Los Al I didn't think much about its academics. However, now that I am in college I am finding how very well Los Al has prepared me for success. While other students are struggling with coursework I am finding that for me it’s more like review. Thanks Los Al faculty! Once a Griffin, Always a Griffin!

I graduated from Los Al in 2018 and could honestly say that those were some of the best yers of my life. They care so much about our academics and the teachers embodied that. If I was ever struggling in any aspect of school, there were resources to complement me. I also admire Los Al for being so diverse in their support. They equally love the athletes as much as they love the arts. I loved this school and I am proud to say that I am an alum!
While Los Alamitos High School has issues with equal treatment of extra-circulars and some student body problems, overall it's a great school with tons of opportunities for students. The amount of classes a student can take is outstanding with subjects varying from criminal law to ROP child development. The arts programs are amazing with show choir winning eight national championships and song and cheer winning many titles for themselves. The teachers are friendly and there are tons of groups and activities for students.
