We could not be more thrilled with our choice to send our daughter to school at Luhi! The small class sizes, engaged staff and nurturing environment have really allowed our daughter to flourish. Her teachers have really gotten to know her, which has made her feel very comfortable. She is happy and willing to go to school every day- and we fully believe that is because of the warm, caring, welcoming environment. We have seen quite a change in her academics at Luhi and feel that she is finally reaching her full potential. We cannot wait to see what the rest of her career at Luhi is like- if we’ve seen all of these wonderful changes in just one year!

Review Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School

My family and I are having a great experience at Luhi. Our son is has grown so much confidence at Luhi. His math teacher is his favorite. We think that the teachers are very knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects. They stay in touch with us via email, thus furthering our vision of being an integral part of our son's educational team. The administration is very transparent and they do foster an open door policy which is very important to us. We picked Luhi, out of 3 schools that met our criteria, primarily because of its diversity. The school focuses a lot on basketball, but they can use better coaching in the other disciplines. Any coach with a 0 record year after year should be replaced. If your child is into sports, arts or various clubs, this is the perfect school for him/her. If you are looking for a nurturing environment that fosters growth in every area of your child's education and personal life, then Luhi is for you.

I graduated from LuHi 2 years ago and I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to go there. LuHi taught me so many skills that are invaluable to me. I also had the opportunity to take electives that ultimately pointed me in the direction of my major and future career. It is not something that I ever saw myself doing and without my guidance counselor pushing me to try new things, flexibility in my schedule, and incredibly welcoming teachers, I certainly would have ended up down a different (and probably wrong) path.

More important than all of this, LuHi taught me how to be a kind and empathetic person. I learned so many things I never knew I never knew from my diverse peers who were all from very different backgrounds. I have always said that even the people I was not friends with while at LuHi, I can without hesitation call good people.

LuHi is a really really special place and I feel so blessed that I was able to spend 6 years there!
