The whole experience at LuHi is centered around readying students for the college experience. The faculty members treat students fairly and with respect, and the class sizes are similar to those you might see on a college campus. Students have access to a variety of AP classes beginning in Grade 10, which means that the most arduous course track will have around eleven AP classes. LuHi recently instituted the AP Capstone Diploma, which shows that they are still looking for ways to modernize their education. The school's sports teams are nationally ranked, and myriad clubs offer something for everyone. Students who attend LuHi feel safe, supported, and welcome.

When we made the sudden transition to online learning. LuHi was ready! My children are fully engaged in meaningful learning that is age appropriate and well supported by a very caring and involved faculty. My high school student is taking her classes online, and my middle schooler is using various platforms to stay engaged and keep the learning going. From what I have heard from talking with other parents, LuHi did a much better job than other schools in switching to the online environment. Plus, the faculty and administration have been available and accessible to address any issues as they have arisen. The emotional and spiritual support offered to the students through this crisis has also been amazing. I couldn’t be more impressed by how LuHi rose to this challenge. Although the world is crazy right now, it is a great time to be a Crusader!! Thanks, LuHi, for making this experience as positive as possible for my children.
My experience at Long Island Lutheran was very out of the box. It allowed me to be creative and focus on my academics at a high level.

When I first visited the school and shadowed a student the students were very friendly and helpful.
I believe this school is very good to prep you for college.
First reason being... that you have to take a test, and, have an interview before you are accepted. Second reason being that they allow many materials for you to open up your academic experience.
The school is also very open to the Arts. Personally this was good for me because it allowed me to focus on my interest in art. Senior year I will be at the highest level of art class, where I create my own projects and present them at art shows where I have a section just for m artwork collection.
A mix of a variety of art classes and levels, excellent academics, and and a wholesome religious experience allows the student to feel at home, safe, and prepared for the future.
