There are usually two different meal options at a time. There are always sale box and sandwich options for picky eaters. The food is well cooked, though there are a ton of repeats. The extras line has many snacks for vending machine prices, which isn't that bad. Healthy options are available in the mainmeals, but not required. Also, breakfast biscuits are amazing!
You begin playing for the school team during 7 th grade, though 8th grade gets the most attention. It's competitive and competition between other schools are exciting. Track, tennis, and cross country allow any age to play and compete; varsity and junior varsity depend on skill level. There are some intramurals done occasionally. PE is required for each year, though usually for a quarter. Those in sports have the option to do weightlifting (girls recently were given this option) to train. Anyway, the sports that grab the most attention are tennis, wrestling (new, unsure if it is still there) basketball, baseball/softball, weightlifting, cheerleading, football,, and soccer.
Out of all the other middle schools in the district, Lone Oak is the best cared for. Everything are in good shape. There isnt an auditorioim, but there are bleachers in they gym. No, there isn't much outdoor space, except for a large parking lot. The classrooms are fine; teachers and the hallways tendto be decorated.
