Lockport High School offers a lot of opportunities that some other schools might not offer. The school offers a bunch of different AP and High School college credited courses for students to take. The school also offers BOCES to students who are planning to go to trade school or do something different then go straight to university. The teachers that they have hired here are phenomenal I feel like I can go to any of them about my problems or issues. The teachers also try their hardest to keep students on track and help out when it is needed. I have also had an amazing experiences when it comes down to athletics in this school. In my freshman year I participated in 3 different sports every season during the fall I did swimming, during the winter I did Track and Filed and during the spring I did softball. I was very active in all these sports and had a good experiences with the coaches and the school spirit. I loved it so much I continued to play sports into my senior year.
I go to a district connected to Lockport high school. It’s called Lockport high school west and it was grades 9-12. I did not have the best grades and I can gratefully say all teachers in the building were very helpful and pushed me to do my best. Some kids get sent here if they weren’t on the best track or had the best behavior so everyone assumed only bad kids went there but that’s far from what it was. The teachers are very patient and nice. On holidays they’d treat the kids very nice and give us deserts or whatever meals went with the holiday. They’d also give us extra time on assignments if needed and help on the side too. I’ve never been to a school where the staff was so kind and helpful this had to be the only one where I felt like the teachers really cared. All the other students noticed too that they didn’t care about just you graduating so they can move on to the next generation but they also cared about us. Overall a great experience, they’re the reason I graduated.
I loved my high school. Every staff always wanted you to succeed and do everything for your best interest. My high school experience was filled with love, laughter, happiness etc. We all have those days where we don’t want to go to school or aren’t feeling it but overall everyone was very social and friendly to me and kept me motivated. Schools aren’t perfect and has there flaws but I really enjoyed my time in high school!
