Livingston Manor High School Reviews

There are a few teachers who have gone above and beyond in teaching their students, but there are also many teachers who only care about passing students. I have literally had a teacher tell my class, "I don't care if you guys learn anything. I just need to finish the curriculum and you guys need to pass." How is that motivating at all?! Many of the teachers are lazy and would rather spend their time sitting at their desks instead of engaging students. With that being said, I have also had a few exceptional teachers during my time at Livingston Manor High School. My favorite teacher, my 11th and 12th grade English teacher, was the best in that she cared for her students. If a student could not understand a concept she would take time out of her own day to sit down privately with the student to go over everything. She was the most caring teacher I've ever had! I also really liked my biology, chemistry, and physics teacher. He would make his classes interesting by engaging students in every example he used. It made it a lot easier to understand the confusing concepts in his classes.

I really did not enjoy my time at Livingston Manor High School. I graduated with less than 40 kids and I was one out of three minorities in my entire class. Sometimes it was very difficult to fit in with everyone else because my background, family traditions, and culture was very different than everyone else. I didn't really like to go hunting, fishing, mudding, and four wheeling. I did, however, have a core group of friends which made the experience better. I would definitely not choose this school again if I could do it all over.
When I attended Livingston Manor High School, there weren't many extracurriculars offered. There were the typical sports, art club, choir, band, and student council. They were pretty great clubs. I have noticed that as the years go by, however, more extracurriculars are being offered, such as yoga club and anime club.
