I’ve attended LPA from the sixth grade and am now preparing to enter my senior year. I’ve felt educationally challenged through the IB program, which does prepare you for the harder aspects of college. However, the school prioritizes trivial aspects like dress code over the treatment of different facilities. Education is definitely the school’s strong suit, which is why many look elsewhere for sports oriented schools (mainly just those that offer a football team). Many teachers are more so ridiculed and made fun of than actually respected (although that it mainly non-IB related).

I have been attending Lincoln Park Academy for seven years, and have gotten the full experience at this point. The academics are amazing and will challenge you to whatever extent you please with its variety of courses. However, the teachers here have room to improve. They tend to focus more on whether your shirt is tucked in or not, rather than on helping students who struggle with their work. Besides that, Lincoln Park Academy is a wonderful school.
Most of the teachers really do care about you & want to help you succeed but then there are a few that don’t know how to teach. The school primarily tends to the needs of IB students rather than regular students & this causes a big riff between classes. Also, if you choose not to take IB or dual enrollment its not the best school for you. As well as this LPA is very unorganized, they’re bad at communication between the staff & the students. The school prioritizes academics, which is great but not if you enjoy arts programs which they couldn’t care less about, funding for them is low. I enjoyed my time at LPA but its not a traditional HS experience, I personally would not recommend it.
