Lincoln High School has offered me many opportunities to get involved not just in academics, but in activities that have a wider impact. Although I have had enriched experiences in National English Honor Society, Math National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Spanish National Honor Society, I can truly say that the most valuable experiences I have had have been through my involvement with non-academic extracurriculars. Through Lincoln High School, I joined the Serve and Learn Student Association, which connects students to volunteer opportunities. I have locally volunteered in my Sioux Falls community throughout my high school career, which has ignited my passion to serve others. For example, volunteering with a local non-profit has exposed me to the injustices and harsh reality that many minority groups face. My community has inspired me to pursue law in college, fighting for people, justice, and accountability, all stemming from my experience with my high school.
Personally, I believe that S.T.E.M., music, and club diversity are some of the reasons students should go to Lincoln High School. They do a very good job enticing students by providing them with many visions and futures, helping students decide the best route for them.
Although this form of education is helpful, Lincoln is not very diverse. Being well known in the community as a predominantly rich, white school, Lincoln High School or the Sioux Falls School District make no effort in changing the school in hopes of better diversity. With the diversity they already have, Lincoln refuses to provide those students with resources and outside organizations that could help them into college that the other schools in the district would normally provide.
Students of color and other ethnicities deserve better at Lincoln High School and should be treated like the rest of the white teenagers at the school. We should be providing our students with the best possible service no matter their skin.

I absolutely loved attending Lincoln High School. The best part about this school is that there is a place for everyone. Lincoln goes above and beyond to make sure that everyone feels included and that they are getting the most out of their education. In addition to that, nearly every teacher that I encountered during my time at Lincoln was ready and willing to go above and beyond to help me achieve my goals and learn the most that I possibly could. Thank you Lincoln High School for making it the best four years possible! Even though some may consider us to be a big school, we are a family and I am going to miss seeing all of the teachers and underclassmen next year when I move on to the next stage of my life.
