I have attended Lincoln High School for all four years of high school. The teachers and staff are incredible. They care about their students and connect with them in a way that makes going to school everyday enjoyable. The school is the most diverse in LPS and the student body is generally very accepting and supportive of everyone in attendance at our school. You can tell from the minute you walk in the LHS doors that the students there are proud to be a student there. We all have loads of school spirit! Our mascot, the Lincoln High Links, is a true representation of the strong and close-knit feel of our school. The environment is safe, inclusive, and supportive. However, the school does have its issues. Considering the school is right around 150 years old, many parts of it seem to be slowly falling apart. The school is also becoming extremely overpopulated making transportation in the hallways very difficult as the school is not meant to hold quite as many students as we now have.

My experience at Lincoln High school has been an amazing one. I've spent all four years of high school at this high school and it hurts me knowing that I will be graduating this year. My school was recognized as “School of Opportunity” by the National Education Policy Center (NEPC) at the University of Colorado-Boulder – one of only eight high schools in the country to earn the honor in 2017. In its final assessment, NEPC said this about my school: “Diversity and unity drive a culture of support and academic challenge in a school where everyone…finds a place to belong.” My school's mascot are the Links. Four chains linked together that symbolize unity, excellence, diversity and tradition. These are the values at LHS. Go Links!
During my time at Lincoln High School, I was a part of the IB program which was nice. It felt like a small community. Lincoln High also had a ton of activities and clubs which I was able to participate in! My favorite part, though, was this activity called festivus which was half a day of fun and for all of us students to hangout in a controlled environment and get to know people of different clubs who we would not normally get to know.
