The music program is great! But the rest of the school makes me want to scream, cry, and hide. This school is extremely overcrowded, even for such a large campus. It’s also dirty. The campus could be maintained; especially outdoors. There’s a place underneath the bleachers known as the “Gum Wall” and it’s so gross to walk by each day! A lot of students, but not all, don’t have respect towards one another nor the teachers. This school cares more about looking good by making students take so many tests, excluding the mandatory standardized tests, which also suck. Though this school isn’t the worse, it definitely doesn’t live up to its “pride.”

At Lincoln, there are problems regarding racism and the administration at the school. Constant restrictions that are unnecessary are indirectly directed toward Black students, forcing some to hide their pride and love for their culture. The administration has tried continuously to mask the underlying stench of racism in the school, but during my time in the school, I will say, the stench has become much more potent.
On a brighter note, Lincoln’s choir and orchestra programs are phenomenal. Mr. Dengel and Mr. Lahman, to me, are how every teacher should be: passionate in their endeavors to share their knowledge with their students. Wanting to major in music performance, both choir and orchestra have helped me with stage performance, vocal ability and health, sight reading, and bass playing. The music programs in Gahanna Lincoln are nothing short of a miracle, as the teachers driving the programs are the absolutely most dedicated.
Lincoln was an awesome high school! there were tons of different extra curriculars that were offered, as well as the academics were very well taught. Though there wasn't that many options for classes that taught us more about the real world after we graduated. I believe there were maybe two different accounting classes, but so many different courses that would have been forgotten after graduation.
