Licking Valley High School Reviews
Rating 3.77 out of 5 111 reviews
In the hills of Newark, Ohio, Licking Valley High School is a very good school in the area. It is filled with teachers who care about the students, students who are academically and sports wise, very good, and a facility that is amazing. The only thing that Licking Valley lacks is college readiness. About 3 years ago, Licking Valley switched to standard based grading, this grading style allows students to re-do the assignment as many times as they need, extended deadlines, and honestly, a style that is not preparing the students of Licking Valley for the "one try" in college.
It's fairly small school, and you get to know almost everyone! The teachers are usually willing to sit down with you, all you have to do is ask. The grading system is a little odd though. It shows you colors usually for your grade, and they are a 4,3,2,1 grading system, but most of the time you can work out with a teacher pretty easily what your actual grade is.
Good academic school with many different sports and offers some club options. Food isn't the best but isn't terrible. Diversity is very low as the school is in a small rural town. The administration is decent as well as teachers and classes are offered specifically to prepare an individual for continuing education.
